Although they are better known today for their Friday fish fries and gymnastics training, the Turners have a history that dates to Wisconsin's birth.

"It's the Turners Sesquicentennial, too, since the first American Turners club was founded in 1848 in Cincinnati," said Turners member Gretchen Rosing, of Milwaukee.
