Advocates hoping to create a state forest on the Milwaukee County
Grounds found a bit of encouragement Friday in a state agency's
formal commitment to examine the proposal.
Through the preservation effort, more than 250 acres could become
the second state forest in the county and provide a way for millions
of dollars in state forestry taxes to be funneled back to the area.
