The `true' Pinocchio: Italy bringing original back to life

Will the real Pinocchio please stand up?
A battle of sorts has broken out over the likeness of the fabled
wooden character, pitting Italian scholars against Walt Disney Co.
Italian author Carlo Collodi in 1881 published his fable about a
puppet who comes to life. Nearly 60 years later, Disney brought its
animated feature to the big screen. Collodi's book may have been
translated into more than 300 languages, but most people still think
of Pinocchio as Disney's creation.
