A bill to ban a late-term abortion procedure was endorsed by a state Senate committee Tuesday, setting up a likely emotional showdown on the issue Thursday the last day of the Senate's regular session. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted, 4-0, to send to the full Senate the ban on so-called partial-birth abortions.
