New freeway sign leads the way to Boerner Botanical Gardens $5,412 expense paid by Friends' fund-raising

Finding the Boerner Botanical Gardens has become easier, thanks
to the efforts of the Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens.
After months of planning, the group recently unveiled a sign on
westbound I-894 near S. 92nd St. that tells drivers which exit to
take for the botanical gardens.
Six years ago, the eastbound lanes of I-894 received a similar
sign.
"It was not logical to have a sign on one side and not the other"
for southbound drivers, said Prescott Wurlitzer, a member of the
Friends of the Boerner Botanical Gardens.
