You might think that Henry VIII would have faded well into obscurity by now.

After all, he won no great military triumphs, and his monument in Britain is just a simple slab of marble. Shakespeare's play about him is one of the Bard's most neglected works. Few of the king's once grand palaces remain standing, and the Tudor family legacy that he desperately tried to sustain died with his children.
