Tony Samuel has a good memory and a pair of role-model teams to
draw from as he embarks on a mission to rebuild one of the most
downtrodden football programs in the country.
Samuel, who spent 11 seasons as an assistant coach to Tom Osborne
at Nebraska, last month was named head coach at New Mexico State, a
school with just two winning seasons since 1968.
He also is the only black coach hired for one of the 20 Division
