In what they hope will be a statement against violence, the African American/Jewish Task Force is asking residents throughout the metropolitan area to pause in a minute of silence Wednesday to remember children in Milwaukee who died violently or in accidents.

The task force says it plans to observe the day in a noon ceremony at O'Donnell Park by reading the names of children killed during 1995 and the first half of 1996. The ceremony will be held in front of the Betty Brinn Child...
