Newt's gay sister finds family love, and contradictions
|
During a brief meeting with reporters in March 1995, my brother,
Newt Gingrich, spoke the truth when he said our family represented
the American family "in all its complexity."
Indeed, the family's complexity starts with Newt himself, as he
has readily acknowledged: "People assume I'm some right-wing,
out-of-touch Neanderthal who doesn't get it. I mean, I'm adopted!
Both of my fathers are adopted! I mean, give me a break!"
Yet, just a few months earlier, Newt had this to say about family:
"Over time, we want to have an explicit bias in favor of
