Calatrava to unveil exhibit of architectural works; If you go What: "The Architecture of Santiago Calatrava" Where: Milwaukee Art Museum, 750 N. Lincoln Memorial Drive When: Friday through Jan. 12 Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; noon to 9 p.m. Thursday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission: $5 general; $3 students and seniors; free for children 12 or younger and art museum members. Opening program: The exhibit formally opens Thursday with a 5:30 p.m. preview and a 6:15 p.m. lecture by Calatrava. The program is free with regular museum admission, and takes place in Memorial Hall of the War Memorial Center, which is part of the museum complex. A reception follows in the galleries. Art talk: Russell Bowman, director of the Milwaukee Art Museum and curator of "The Architecture of Santiago Calatrava," will speak about the exhibit and lead a gallery tour at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 26. The program is free with regular museum admission.

Santiago Calatrava is a sculptor who thinks like an architect and
an architect who thinks like a sculptor.
The Spanish-born artist, 45, will be showing off both facets of
his creative talent Thursday as he unveils a major exhibit of his
architectural works at the Milwaukee Art Museum, 750 N. Lincoln
Memorial Drive.
Calatrava, who has offices in Valencia, Zurich and Paris, is no
stranger to Milwaukee. He has jetted between Europe and the U.S.
ever since he was commissioned to design the museum's
58,000-square-foot expansion.
