Egypt lets anger with Israel show Blaming Netanyahu, Mubarak distances nation from peace process

Seventeen years after Egypt became the first Arab country to sign a peace accord with Israel, the relationship between the two countries has deteriorated to its lowest point since the signing.

Frustrated and angered by the Israeli government's slowdown of the Middle East peace process, Egyptian leaders, who initially had called for patience in dealing with new Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have adopted a new hard-line stance.

Insults have been hurled back and forth across the border, including a comment from one Egyptian Foreign Ministry official that Netanyahu needs ...
