Cornell students find rare fungus Discovery could help researchers develop life-saving drugs

Researchers at Cornell University say that an unusual fungus
collected during an undergraduate field trip from the back of a dung
beetle grub has turned out to be a previously unknown form of one of
the most important fungi utilized by medical science.
The discovery opens up the possibility for the first time that
scientists may be able to culture new strains of the organism for
improved life-saving drugs.
