`Church on the Hill' to celebrate 150 years St. Anthony plans event for this weekend

Spirit, sense of pride and a willingness to get involved in the community make the parishioners of St. Anthony Catholic Church unique in the eyes of Father Kevin Wester.

"There's a real sense of ownership here," said Wester, associate pastor of the church at N74-W13604 Appleton Ave. "The tradition has been to take one's faith out to the surrounding area."

This weekend, "The Church on the Hill" will celebrate 150 years of that tradition with a festival to which, of course, the entire community is invited.

The event will feature a fish fry; a run-walk; carnival rides; Bob Reitman from radio ...
