Death row theme gets reworked to death in lame `Last Dance'

A movie could be made using the sentimental cliches left out of Tim Robbins' definitive death row drama "Dead Man Walking." Someone did. It's called "Last Dance" and stars Sharon Stone.

"Last Dance" has the unfortunate timing to follow in the footsteps of "Dead Man Walking," and pales by comparison.

It is an unfair comparison, to be sure, since "Last Dance" has its own modest assets, notably Stone's solid outing as the jaded and faded death row inmate.
