Local playwright Christi Stewart-Brown's "The Gene Pool"
focuses on a couple of adoring parents grappling with the challenges
of raising a son. It couldn't be a better vehicle to mark the return
to Woolly Mammoth of actress Jennifer Mendenhall, who is, like her
character, Mira, a mom. Mendenhall is just coming off a nearly
three-year hiatus from Woolly's stage after the birth of her own
