Peter Hargreaves is in a tearing hurry. The Hargreaves Lansdown
chief executive wants to be absolutely sure he arrives at his
company's Bristol headquarters before 8am. That is when the business
he founded with partner Stephen Lansdown in 1981 makes its debut as
a public company, and Hargreaves wants to watch as its shares hit
dealing screens.
He manages to leave the house at 7.20am - 10 minutes earlier than
usual - with his daughter, whom he ferries to school each morning,
