Milwaukee Public Museum officials released new financial figures Tuesday showing a loss of $10.4 million in fiscal 2005, leaving the institution's overall net worth $4 million in the red as of Aug. 31.

The one-year asset drop was outlined in an annual review by an outside auditing firm and was 67% higher than projections presented two months ago by top museum officials to the museum's board.
