DNR predicts pleasant hunting for pheasants this season; Increase in stockingwill aid hunters

Pheasant hunters can expect good hunting when the season opens at
noon Saturday, for both wild birds and those from the State Game
Farm.
"Hunters can expect to see an increase in stocked pheasants
compared to last year," said Andrea Mezera, acting upland wildlife
biologist for the Department of Natural Resources in Madison.
The DNR will stock public hunting grounds with about 40,000
pheasants from the State Game Farm at Poynette, an increase from
