`Copelan' Prevails at Laurel; Running With Lasix for First Time, Colt Wins Horatius Stakes

Just saying yes paid off for long shot Running Copelan
yesterday at Laurel Park as the 3-year-old colt, running for the
first time under the diuretic Lasix, cruised to a victory in the
$50,000 Horatius Stakes.
Prior to the Horatius Stakes, Running Copelan's lone win was
in a maiden race at Belmont Park in October. At that time, the
Florida-bred was running for Nick Zito, the legendary trainer best
known for guiding Strike the Gold and Go For Gin's Kentucky
Derby-winning campaigns.
But as soon as Running Copelan broke his maiden, Zito
