A dancer's dream; Teen accepted by Ailey independent study program but must find funds

Romero Patterson has his ticket to dance in New York City. Now he needs to figure out if he can afford to go.

Patterson, an 18-year-old Messmer High School student, learned Tuesday that he has been accepted by the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's independent study program. Tuition is $7,000 a year. That does not include room and board.

The notion of heading off to New York thrills and worries him.
