Beloved Canadian Writer William O. Mitchell Dies

William Ormond Mitchell, 83, whose novels and radio plays evoked the slow ebb and flow of life on the Canadian prairies and made him one of Canada's best-loved writers, died Feb. 25 at his home. He had prostate cancer.
