Mayor Marion Barry said yesterday that he is "leaning toward"
attending an international conference next week in Jerusalem at the
invitation of the Israeli government, with his hosts paying for
accommodations at the conference and D.C. taxpayers covering the
cost of air fare.
"I'm the mayor of the nation's capital, and my job description
goes beyond the Beltway -- it goes international," Barry said in an
interview, adding that he will make a final decision by tomorrow.
