MPS Board votes 6-0 to demand return of paintings; Move should keep artworks out of Connecticut auction

Give us back those paintings that's the firm message the
Milwaukee School Board sent, albeit in more formal terms, to a
Connecticut art auctioneer at a special meeting Tuesday.
The message, approved 6-0 after a 90-minute closed session, almost
surely will mean that two paintings from Washington High School that
are believed to be worth about a half-million dollars will not be
auctioned on April 28, as the auctioneer and Washington High
officials wanted.
