UW's reserves have filled voids well

Madison -- Nothing tests the mettle and depth of a football team quite like an overcrowded trainer's room.

Injuries can reduce greatness to mediocrity. At a minimum, the absence of too many key players can provide convenient excuses for the survivors who might lack the necessary mental toughness to compensate.

The University of Wisconsin certainly hasn't been devastated by injuries this season, as it was in 2003. Yet...
