Israel has made it clear that it has no intention of signing the
Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty. This is a big mistake because the
treaty has been an effective tool in protecting Israel -- and other
countries -- from the scourge of nuclear war. But it might be
possible to convince Israel to develop closer official ties to the
agency that enforces the treaty, the International Atomic Energy
Agency. It's worth a try...
