Monday's storm was a doozy: It unloaded as much as 2.6 inches of
rain in the metropolitan area and more than 1.5 inches in the first
hour in some places. One of them was Bayside, and one Bayside
resident, Jodie Habush Sinykin, took notice of the consequences --
what seemed to be the human waste equivalent of an oil slick on the
surface of Lake Michigan.
