Stephen Klinger, 91, a psychiatrist who spent 30 years at St.
Elizabeths Hospital in Washington and retired in 1985 as director of
the maximum security division, died of congestive heart failure Dec.
2 at Montgomery General Hospital. He lived at Rossmoor Leisure World
in Silver Spring.
Dr. Klinger was born in Austria and graduated from the University
of Vienna medical school in 1931. He practiced dentistry in Vienna
before fleeing the Nazis in the late 1930s.
