Extortion: Obtaining property from another, with his consent, induced by wrongful use of actual or threatened force, violence or fear, or under color of official right. -- United States Code

In 1986, Milwaukee Ald. Richard Spaulding was convicted of extortion for accepting $11,800 worth of bribes in exchange for zoning and liquor license favors.
