Businessman Abraham Isaac Lang Dies; Founded Mattress Giant Retail Chain

Abraham Isaac "Abe" Lang, 48, a former Montgomery County resident and businessman who was a founder of a multimillion-dollar mattress retail chain based in Texas, died Oct. 17 at a hospital in Dallas after a heart attack. A resident of Aventura, Fla., he was in Dallas to visit relatives and conduct business.

Mr. Lang, a former Rockville, Gaithersburg and Hyattsville resident, lived in the Washington area for 30 years before 1992, when he moved to Dallas and became a founder and president of Mattress Giant Corp. He sold the company four years later, but rejoined Mattress Giant in September as ...
