Randy "Buzz" Butters was hooked the first time he went fishing using a Hexagenia fly pattern more than 20 years ago.

He had never gone fly fishing for trout before, so he jumped at the chance when a friend invited him to go along.

That began a lifelong passion and devotion to studying the finer points of fishing with the Hex mayfly, a favorite food of stream trout and various other species.
