Bugs feasting in yard might be bean beetles

Q. Our green beans are being rampaged by bugs that look almost
like small lady bugs but they are grayish/brown with black dots and
obviously very hungry. How can we control these pests?
A. The Mexican bean beetle may be the culprit. It can be yellow or
coppery brown with 16 black spots and does look like a small ladybug.
