Convention to celebrate Asian art's beauty

Edward Scissorhands may have been clever at creating topiary, but he probably would have bombed at bonsai. Those clippers at the end of his arms would have been too big for snipping small trees. And he sure didn't seem like the patient type.

And patience is definitely a virtue when it comes to bonsai, (pronounced "bahn SEYE"), says David DeGroot, an international bonsai teacher. Bonsai is the Asian art of creating miniature trees.
