Lisbon, Merton reach accord on boundaries

More than a year after Merton and Lisbon announced they would
begin border talks, officials from the communities have approved an
agreement that solidifies their municipal boundaries.
The boundary agreement is the second for Lisbon, which reached a
similar agreement with Sussex in December 2000 after years of
lawsuits and political disputes.
"It freezes our boundaries on the west, and it allows us to grow
without worrying about annexation," Lisbon Town Chairman Gerald
