BOULDER - In order to reach the Big 12 Conference championship game, Colorado had to beat No. 2-ranked Nebraska.

Colorado did that and much more, stomping past the Cornhuskers 62- 36 in record fashion at Folsom Field on Friday. It was the most points ever scored against Nebraska, besting the 61 points by Minnesota in 1945.

The win was Colorado's first against Nebraska since the Buffaloes' national championship season of 1990 - a span of 10 games. Colorado managed a tie in '91, but then suffered nine straight defeats in the series. The last five matchups have been particularly tortuous for ...
