Coronado cruising toward playoffs

Coronado had shut out six of its first 10 girls soccer opponents
this season. So, getting one goal in the first 20 seconds Friday at
Doherty was a good sign for the Cougars.
Scoring again less than five minutes later helped, too.
The third goal at the 15-minute mark? "Oh my gosh, it's great,"
said midfielder Teresa Flynn. "That definitely puts your self-esteem
way up."
That fast start was more than enough for Coronado, which got two
of those early goals from Flynn in a 4-1 victory over Doherty in a
key Metro League game.
The win all but clinches a state tournament berth for Coronado (8-
