Once-happy diner on auction block

Leroy Rael went to Chuck's Stop Diner four days ago to sit on the
floor where he found his mother slain nearly nine months ago.
"It was horrible," the 27-year-old said. "It was definitely a
hard moment in my life. I hadn't been back there by myself. I just
wanted to go in by myself. I just wanted to sit there because I knew
that was her favorite place to be."
When he arrived for work at about 7:30 a.m. March 21, he found
Darlene Vigil's body behind the counter.
Her former boyfriend, Brian Hannon, 45, has been charged with
first-degree murder in her strangulation death. A March 5 trial date ...
