Pine Creek bottles up Palisade

GRAND JUNCTION - Pine Creek found the key to lock up Palisade's
explosive offense, sparking a second-half comeback that culminated
with a 34-19 victory in the first round of the Class 3A state
playoffs Friday night.
Pine Creek (9-3) came into the game ranked fourth in the state in
total offense, but found itself training 19-7 at halftime of its
first playoff game.
"Offense was not the problem," Pine Creek coach Mike Roof said.
"We were unstoppable, but gave up two fumbles."
After making some adjustments at halftime, Pine Creek's defense
held Palisade (9-3) ...
