Mix of musical styles keeps band rolling

That could have been the name of the band taking the City Auditorium by storm tonight. But it's not. Instead, that band is Jethro Tull.

Late in 1967, four musicians struggled for gigs, changing band names weekly so London club managers would reschedule them without realizing who they were.

Fortunately, their doggedness paid off. Performance quality improved and on the evening they officially were signed as the Marquee club's regular Thursday night act, they were using the name Jethro Tull.
