There are plenty of local recruitment companies
Wayne Heilman's column, "EDC starting rather than just attracting
firms," in the July 24 Inside Business is a cause for some concern.
First, there is the unprofessional (if not unethical) practice of
a nonprofit organization creating a for-profit entity which directly
competes with members.
Second, I don't see the connection between the Economic
Development Corporation's stated mission - to sustain and improve the
quality of life in the greater Colorado Springs area by helping to
meet community demand for the number, ...
