Jazz alive, kickin' with Rum Bay gig

Downtown just got another musical upgrade. The Springs Contemporary Jazz Big Band has moved its 10-year-running Wednesday gig to Rum Bay, 20 N. Tejon St.

"Downtown fits the big band jazz sound," says the group's founder and leader, Steve Rempelos.

The group had to find a new home after Bogart's, where they'd been playing since 1993, closed its doors in July. Before that, they played the Dublin House and The Ritz.
