John Mayall has a musical Midas touch.

The English bluesman was a major player in the '60s rock scene, but many of the musicians Mayall hired for his Bluesbreakers band were destined for much greater fame than their bandleader: Eric Clapton, who played with Mayall between stints with the Yardbirds and Cream; Mick Taylor, later a Rolling Stones guitarist; and Peter Green and John McVie, who left to form Fleetwood Mac.
