Edison, Washington-Lee Win Titles

After the Edison boys soccer team won its first district championship in the 27-year history of the school last night by defeating Washington-Lee, 2-1, Eagles Coach Jim Wild Jr. reminded the spirited crowd of about 500 at Stuart High School that his father started the program in 1972.

"That's why I love coaching here -- to continue what my father started," said Wild, in his 16th season as the Eagles' coach. "We've had some tough times at Edison, but we've waited them out and we've have some class players. This is for all those tough years."
