Such blockbuster shows as "Les Miserables," which came to Colorado Springs last week for an eight-show run, tend to bring people out of the woodwork - people whom critics such as myself rarely see at other shows the rest of the year. This very popularity suggests many of the show's fans aren't hard-core theatergoers, because if there were that many hard-core theatergoers in Colorado Springs, tickets to local productions would be a lot harder to come by.

My less-than-a-rave critique of "Les Mis" last week touched a nerve with some of the show's fans. And that got me thinking.
