A group of Republican business leaders and elected officials endorsed Democratic Gov. Roy Romer on Wednesday, abandoning GOP gubernatorial candidate John Andrews because he supports a controversial tax-limitation proposal.

The list of supporters fell far short of a who's who of prominent Colorado Republicans - the mayors of Thornton, Loveland and Craig were among them.
