Second-year player powers his way into Denver's lineup

GREELEY - Warren Powers came to the Denver Broncos' training camp
last month with the goal of becoming a starting defensive end.
Camp closed Saturday, and the 6-foot-6, 287-pound Powers was a
starter when he returned to Denver.
But veteran Ron Holmes, a holdout, isn't around. Nothing
irritates Powers more than the suggestion that Holmes' absence is
the primary reason behind Powers becoming a starter.
