Water providers praise probe of proposed Two Forks veto
|
DENVER - The General Accounting Office's decision to investigate
the Environmental Protection Agency's plan to veto the Two Forks dam
project is "great news," Larry Berkowitz, president of the
Metropolitan Denver Water Authority, said Friday.
The GAO, Congress' investigative arm, tentatively agreed to the
investigation after Sen. Bill Armstrong, R-Colo., alleged EPA
officials bypassed established procedure when they decided to veto
the project.
