Private industry gazing at stars/ Beggs: Government controls block expansion

Private industry is itching to expand its business activities
into space, but government policies may determine whether U.S.
companies are welcome there.
"The market out 20 years (from now) will be large and it will be
growing - we're looking at multi-billion dollar opportunities," said
former-NASA Administrator James Beggs, one of several space industry
figures who spoke Wednesday at the fifth National Space Symposium,
under way this week at The Broadmoor hotel.
Beggs, who was NASA administrator from 1981 to 1985, is now the
