Carol Odell says her employees are getting hurt on the job less
often, yet she is paying more than ever before for workmen's
compensation insurance.
Odell, vice president of Specialty Millwork Manufacturing Inc.
at 423 E. Cucharras St., paid a $6 workmen's compensation insurance
premium in 1987 for every $100 paid to an employee. Last year the
rate jumped to $9 per $100 of payroll, and Odell knows she's likely
to pay even more this year.
