ENGLEWOOD - Al Wilson wore a black hat and a black shirt Friday, but his clothes didn't fit the mood.

Wilson, the Denver Broncos' middle linebacker since 1999 and a captain since 2001, met with coach Mike Shanahan on Thursday and was informed he would be released. He had a news conference Friday and told everyone it wasn't a sad day and they should reflect on his career.

"It's a celebration," said Wilson, who is a five-time Pro Bowl player.
