La Plata Coach Todd Sharp regularly gives each of his wrestlers a
note card during the first week of practice. On the front they write
their team goals for the season. The back is for their individual
goals.
Though each wrestler had different personal goals, their team
goal was the same, senior Dane Orzechowski said: To repeat as state
champions.
La Plata pulled off that feat last Saturday, beating Damascus, 36-
28, to take the Maryland 4A/3A state dual meet championship for the
